Tools and Hardware Reviews of Power On Board HID (High Intensity Discharge) SpotlightCustomer Review: Zero stars now - After 1 year it's totally worthless Summary: 5 Stars
You might see that I gave this unit 5 stars (which I can't rescind now), but 1 year later I would give it "0" stars. After diligently following the directions to make certain that I discharged and recharged it every 2 months, I wound-up with a useless device. After 1 year, its brightness is about one-tenth (or less) of what it was when I first got it, and most of the time, I can't even turn it on. I'll have to look for a warranty, IF it came with one. But at the price I originally paid ($44), the weight of the unit would probably not be worth the cost to ship it back. Obviously, this unit...and likely the battery itself...has some inherent design flaw.
Customer Review: "Da Bomb" of a flashlight. Summary: 5 Stars
This flashlight is essentially one of the new HID white car headlights in a portable form. When pointed towards the ceiling, it will light up a whole room as if the lights were on. Great during a blackout. When used outside, the broad beam will light up an object as far away as a city block.
The flashlight will stay lit for about an hour and a half before it needs to be recharged. it has a nice set of LEDs to show the charge.
This is one terrific flashlight!
Customer Review: The Brightest Light I've Ever Owned Summary: 5 Stars
Full Disclosure - I'm a flashlight/lantern collector (aka "GEEK"). I own many differing lights from incadescents to fluorescents to LEDs, and now to HIDs. This is by far the brightest light I've ever owned! Yes it is a bit bulky, and yes the replacement bulb is supposedly VERY expensive (I don't know how much), but it simply kicks butt. It is so bright that I believe it could actually cause eye damage.
By the way, I bought mine at Sam's Club for $35.
Customer Review: Great light Summary: 5 Stars
I am very impressed with this light. I am in Law enforcement and work in the Marine Unit and this light has been used during many rescues.....only noticed one problem the cables that connect to the battery are very short and if they come loose are impossible to reconnect.....I had to rewire and extend them....but otherwise what a great light for the money.....I own 3 now.
Customer Review: Great Boat Light Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this in 2008 and have been using it on my boat when I go fishing at night. The pro: I can see objects in the distance long before they become a problem up close. The long battery life and bright light is why I got this light. I highly recommend buying this when out at night in your boat. The con: is the light gets heavy real quick.
